‘Glee’ Episode Features Carol Burnett As Sue Sylvester’s Mom

carolandsueNov 24, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Carol Burnett appeared on the Tuesday night’s episode of Glee. The TV personality and former Broadway star played the role of Sue Sylvester’s mother. At 77, Carol Burnett managed to look better than ever and stole the show with her sharp tongue and comic personality. Her character is shown as a dangerous Nazi hunting woman who consoles her daughter by offering her a copy of Mein Kampf.

Doris Sylvester, Sue Sylvester’s mother arrived in town after Sue Sylvester discovered that her anchorman crush was getting married to his co-anchor. While she took to dating sites to find a perfect match for herself, her outspoken mother (Carol Burnett) came into the scene to solve her daughter’s love life issues. the mother-daughter duo performed the duet ‘Ohio’ from the 1953 musical ‘Wonderful Town’. Carol Burnett showed off her Broadway origins on the show where there was also a hilarious bickering in the interlude between the mother and the daughter.

Among some of the hilarious quotes by the TV veteran on the show, Carol Burnett’s character Doris Sylvester said that it was perfectly normal for a woman to be handsome. Considering her daughter’s masculine appeal, the quote turned out to be one of the highlights of the show. Carol Burnett is a well known TV personality who has been in and out of the limelight over the last six decades. She has appeared in a number of films and has won a number of Emmy and Golden Globes. Her stint as a comedian and host on the ‘Carol Burnett Show’ shot her to stardom and fans discovered a new aspect of her career after Broadway days.
