“Glee” And “The Pacific” Dominate Emmy Award Nominations

July 9, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The much anticipated Emmy Awards nominations were announced yesterday morning and the 62nd annual Primetime Emmy Awards will be aired live in Los Angeles on August 29, Sunday. The Emmy Awards fanatics were eagerly waiting for the nominations and like every year, they expected to see the familiar names in the ballot like “Lost”, “30 Rock” and “Mad Men.” However, this year some new names are added to the list like the HBO miniseries “The Pacific” which has got 24 nominations and Fox’s “Glee” has 19 nominations in its kitty.
There are many other TV series which got their deserved attention from the Emmy officials. “30 Rock” managed to secure its better comedy nominations and the fans expect that this time as well the show will get the trophy. The other contenders are “Curb Your Enthusiasm” from HBO, “Modern Family” of ABC, “Nurse Jackie” of Showtime and NBC’s popular show “The Office.” “Mad Man” has also secured 17 nominations and its contenders are “Breaking Bad” from the channel AMC and many other. Alec Baldwin of last years Emmy fame for “30 Rock” and Lea Michele from “Glee” are nominated as the best actor and actress respectively.
The high school musical series “Glee” received much appreciations for its performance and the nominations show that the series could win the heart of the audience and the Emmy jury owing to its ironic humor and vocal talent. It got nominated for the best drama category among others. The producers, directors and everyone related to the show are happy to get the news of nominations. Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg’s co production “The Pacific” also expects a good share of award this time. The audience as well as the respective nominees are waiting eagerly for the Emmy Award night.
