Gisele Bundchen is Named as World’s Top (Earning) Model!

May 14 (THAINDIAN NEWS) When she brought in a whopping 25 million dollars last year, Gisele Bundchen became the top of the food chain when it comes to models, at least if you count their income in the running. In what is being dubbed ‘ironic’, the recession has actually helped Gisele keep her top spot for the past two years, since brand names are more likely to keep the models they already have than to try new ones during the economic struggle.
“Companies want to know that if they’re putting money behind a talent that she is recession-proof,” Ivan Bart, senior vice president and managing director of IMG Models, which represents model superstars such as Gisele Bundchen and Heidi Klum told Forbes. “We find that the experienced models continue to earn well”
What that means is that even though she is a new mom, the twenty nine year old model is still making it big in the industry. Coming in second place after earning 16 million was the 36 year old Heidi Klum, and the 36 year old Kate Moss came in third with 9 million, with some of her income being generated by her clothing and fragrance line. Also in the top ten were Adriana Lima, Doutzen Kroes, Miranda Kerr. The only American model on the list was Carolyn Murphy.
