‘Girls Aloud’ plans their farewell tour
September 26th, 2011 - 9:10 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattLondon, Sept 26 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Any hope held by fans that the band, Girls Aloud will permanently be back together has been dashed with reports that the band is planning a farewell tour. According to the British tabloid Daily Star Sunday, the band members are planning to embark on a three-week farewell tour in the United Kingdom.
The band will be ten years next year and fans had been hoping that they would use the occasion to come together permanently. Though there has been hints that the band will be holding a tour to mark the occasion, there has not been any firm confirmation on that.
In the report in the newspaper, a source was quoted as saying that, “The early talk is a short three-week tour towards the end of the year, finishing at Wembley. The Wembley Stadium idea is to get a few of the hottest girlbands and female performers like Leona Lewis, The Saturdays and Alexandra Burke on board and bill it as Ladies’ Night, with them headlining.”
The report said the original band members – Nadine Coyle, Cheryl Cole, Sarah Harding, Nichola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh – have all agreed to the tour. The tour organizers are also reportedly speaking to Alexandra Burke and Leona Lewis on the tour.
