London, Dec 16: The Spice Girls returned home in a rocking manner after kicking off the UK leg of their comeback tour at London’s 02 arena on Dec 15.

The concert was the first of 17 nights at the O2 arena, their first performance in nine years in the country.

The famous five burst onto the stage and told fans: “It’s so good to be home.”

Victoria Beckham said: “It’s going to be amazing. We’re going to give you the best show you’ve ever seen.”

The Spice Girls opened their show by emerging on five separate podiums, dazzling in gleaming Roberto Cavalli designer dresses and launched straight into Spice Up Your Life.

The highpoint of the show was when Posh Spice Victoria Beckham strode down the catwalk in a mock fashion shoot complete with Spice Boys posing as paparazzi.

Baby Spice Emma Bunton was performing despite spraining her ankle after she fell over at a concert in Las Vegas.

The performance included 22 songs, six costume changes and even a pole dance.

A-listers in the audience included Cavalli and the chart-topping singer Rihanna.

The band, which includes Victoria Beckham, Emma Bunton, Melanie Brown, Geri Halliwell and Melanie Chisholm, dominated the charts and headlines in the late 1990s. The group formed in 1994 and split six years later. (ANI)
