Gilmour’s son jailed over student riots
July 16th, 2011 - 8:41 am ICT by IANSLondon, July 16 (IANS) “Pink Floyd” rocker David Gilmour’s son Charlie has been jailed for 16 months for rampaging during student riots.
Charlie admitted violent disorder after he was arrested for his involvement in demonstrations in London’s Trafalgar Square and Parliament Square in December, last year, reports contactmusic.com.
He was caught on camera swinging from a flag on the Cenotaph war memorial and urging fellow protesters to “storm Parliament”.
A judge at Kingston Crown Court in south west London found Gilmour guilty of hurling the missile and handed the Cambridge University student a 16-month stint behind bars, this Friday.
