Gibson loses half fortune in divorce settlement

Los Angeles, Dec 24 (IANS) Actor Mel Gibson’s divorce from ex-wife Robyn Moore has cost him a lot! She has been awarded half his $850 million fortune in their divorce settlement.
The settlement was finalised Friday, reports femalefirst.co.uk.
The “Braveheart” actor is now officially a single man after his almost 30-year marriage to Moore, mother of seven of his children, was officially ended.
The couple didn’t have a prenuptial agreement. So, Gibson’s 55-year-old former wife was legally entitled to half of everything he earned during their marriage, as well as 50 percent of the actor’s future film earnings.
Moore, who already has two Malibu homes worth an estimated $22.5 million, filed for legal separation in April 2009 citing “irreconcilable differences” as a reason for ending their marriage.
