jenniferSep 25, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Sad news for the fans of ‘Ghost Whisperer’ and the gorgeous Jennifer Love Hewitt as Fox has canceled the next season of the much loved horror series. There is, however, some relief as Fox is, reportedly, in negotiations to create a new show for Jennifer Love Hewitt which is a comedy. Though not much details of the new show has been released yet, some insiders say that it will be a female version of ‘The Big Bang Theory’. Another source has revealed that the network is planning to give more airtime to Jennifer Love Hewitt.

Fans can look forward to seeing Jennifer Love Hewitt in other shows as the star is, reportedly, filming for her guest appearance in ‘Love Bites’ and also working on a role in the next season of ‘Castle’. The last episode of ‘Ghost Whisperer’ was aired on May 21 this year and the decision to cancel the show comes as a surprise to many viewers. The show not only received significant critical acclaim but also maintained a steady viewership over the 5 seasons. Season 4 saw a great surge in the viewership and ratings. With the former crossing the 10 million mark, it looked like Fox would be banking on the show for some more season. In the last season, however, there was a slight drop the viewership but it is unclear whether that was the only reason for the show’s cancellation.

The plot of ‘Ghost Whisperer’ revolved around the life of Melinda Gordon, played by Jennifer Love Hewitt. She lives in the fictional town of Grandview with her husband and has the supernatural ability to see ghosts. She helps the ghosts to complete their tasks for the lifetime so that they may cross over to the other side ( possibly heaven). It is the challenges that she faces while trying to help the ghosts that the show focuses on.
