Geri Jewell Reveals She Is Lesbian In Her Autobiography

Jan 29, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Actress Geri Jewell who earned fame for acting in ‘The Facts of Life’ as Geri, the cousin of Blair has come out open about her sexual orientation and revealed that she is lesbian. The revelation comes in her soon to be published autobiography. The actress was incidentally the first person with physical disability to get a recurring role in Prime time TV. The memoir named ‘ I’m Walking as Straight as I Can: Transcending Disability in Hollywood and Beyond’ is going to be published in April this year and the news has sent waves in showbiz industry. This is the first time she talked about her sexual orientation.
According to reliable sources the actress was born with the ailment cerebral palsy. In her upcoming memoir she will touch upon various professional achievements in her career and also swell with some facets of her personal life. She performed at the White House in 1985. In HBO’s Deadwood her portrayal of the abused maid Jewel also earned her accolades from the viewers and critics alike. That does not mean her life was without struggle and strifes. She had to deal with severe problems like tax, drug addiction, marital woes and a near fatal accident. All these will be narrated in her autobiography. Of course, there will be the chapter on her orientation as well.
Like many of the actors of her generation Actress Geri Jewell has to keep her sexuality suppressed till a long time owing to the norms of the industry. The Facts of Life, the coming of age sitcom proved to be a turning point in her career.
