Gere hopes his New York inn will have positive impact on planetFebruary 24th, 2009 - 6:32 pm ICT by ANI
London, Feb 24 (ANI): Richard Gere has revealed that he has high hopes of his New York restaurant and lodge becoming a centre where such discussions will be held as would have a positive impact on the planet.
Gere, 59, owns the Bedford Post Inn, which includes an 18th century house, barn and bistro, and it will accommodate guests in up to eight rooms when it opens in Westchester, New York, this spring.
And although Gere admits he never anticipated opening a formal restaurant on the 14-acre property, he hopes his unexpected venture will provide a place to network for some of his high-profile pals.
There are a lot of people in this area who have been enormously successful and have done tremendous good work, the Daily Express quoted him as telling New York magazine.
It’’s my hope that they will come and discuss and network at a very high level about how to have a positive impact on the planet, he added. (ANI)
