Gerardo Ortiz tops Billboard Latin Albums chart

Miami, Sep 16 (IANS/EFE) Gerardo Ortiz, nominated in 10 categories for the first Billboard Mexican Music Awards, took the top spot on Billboard’s list of best-selling Latin Albums this week with his latest effort, “Entre Dios y el diablo”.
“A Puros Trankazos”, a compilation of Mexican regional hits performed by various artists, slipped to second place.
Duelo grabbed the No. 3 position with “Vuela mas alto”, followed by Prince Royce’s self-titled album.
Italian trio Il Volo’s “Il Volo: Edicion en espanol”, climbed from seventh to fifth place.
“Rain Over Me”, by Pitbull with Marc Anthony, led the Latin Pop Songs chart, whose rankings are based on radio airplay. Alejandra Guzman’s “Dia de suerte” vaulted from No. 5 to No. 2, trading places with “Amor clandestino” by Mana.
Don Omar’s “Taboo” moved up one notch to third, while “Give Me Everything”, by Pitbull with Afrojack, Ne-Yo y Nayer, fell from first to fourth.
