July 14, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The web is abuzz as photographs of Gerard Butler sporting a mullet has surfaced. The look is reportedly for an upcoming movie named Machine Gun Preacher where the Scottish actor plays the role of real life hero Sam Childers. The new look of Gerard Butler was clicked on July 12 ans is accompanied with the complete look of the character that includes a Harley Davidson and a leather jacket.

Sam Childers was a former drug dealer who decides to give up his illegal activities after finding God. He then goes to the war torn African country of Sudan and rescues the children who are forced to fight in the war as soldiers. Gerard Butler will play of the role of the real life villain turned hero and the film also stars Michael Shannon and Michelle Monaghan. Earlier this year the fans saw Brad Pitt sporting the unshaven look more than a year.

Sam Childers’ story has been adopted in the movie ‘Machine Gun Preacher’ by director Marc Foster. The look of Gerard Butler with the mullet and leather jacket is also apt in the portrayal of the drug dealer tuned socialist. The film went into production this June and is set to release next year. The film will be shot in Pennsylvania according to sources. An insider has revealed that the character of Sam Childers had only one objective and that was to protect the children. The role is said to remind the audience of Gerard Butler’s portrayal of the fearless King Leonidas in ‘300′.
