Nov 4, (THAINDIAN NEWS) It seems that rapper Kanye West’s comment about former President George W. Bush back in 2005 that he does not care of black people, had indeed hit the former United States President hard. In a recent interview, George W. Bush has described Kanye West’s remark during a live telethon as one of the ‘most disgusting moments’ of his presidency. The noted rapper had slammed the former President during a telethon which was organized to raise funds for the victims of Hurricane Katrina in 2005, for the government’s lack of support in New Orleans.
In an interview with Matt Lauer, George W. Bush, hit back at the ‘Through The Wire’ singer saying that the fact that the rapper had called him a ‘racist’ was not something that he appreciated. Although Matt Lauer emphasized that Kanye West had only said that ‘George Bush doesn’t care about black people’, the former President reiterated that the singer basically called him a racist, a statement that he resents as it is not true while adding that it was one of the most disgusting moments of his eight-year long presidency. George W. Bush was on the Matt Lauer’s show to promote his new book ‘Decision Points’ that is scheduled to be published next week.
The then President George W. Bush’s administration had to face extensive criticism for its handling of disaster that was caused by Hurricane Katrina in the year 2005. During the crisis, Kanye West was one of the celebrities who took part in a line telethon to raise funds for the victims of the disaster where he made the controversial comment.
