George Strait’s “The Breath You Take” Leaves CMA Audience Teary

Nashville, Nov 11, (THAIDIAN NEWS) The 44th Annual Country Music Award ceremony turned out to be a star studded affair with some of the most well known country music singers turning up for the event. George Strait, who is better known as the “King of Country”, left many a country music fans with teary eyes with his beautiful rendition of “The Breath You Take”. The singer who is known for his passionate singing was able to captivate the audience by singing the song that features in his new album.
George Strait, who is considered as one of the legends that the Country Music school has produced, took to the stage wearing a black cowboy hat and suit. His performance followed just after Miranda Lambert soared up the heat with her beautiful rendition of “That’s the way, the world goes round”. As the singer strummed his guitar, the crowd cheered loud with excitement. However, as he proceeded with the song, it became clear that George Strait has chosen a soulful number for the night. The song scripted the story of a father and a son and connected it with the game of baseball. George Strait’s elegance was once again reflected in his singing.
However, many from the audience voiced to media sources that the performance was wrongly placed. Coming just after Miranda Lambert’s power packed “That’s the way, the world goes round”, George Strait’s song failed to have the desired effect. Apart from George Strait, other country music singers who performed at CMA 2010 are Blake Shelton, Carrie Underwood, Rascal Flatts, Taylor Swift, Keith Urban, Sugarland and Reba McEntire. All these performances made CMA 2010 a gala affair.
