Aug 8, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Disappointing news for all the fans of Star Wars as George Lucas informed his fans that he is putting the Live Action Star Wars TV series on hold because he has difficulty funding the project. The legendary director said that he has the scripts but does not know how to do them. He said that the TV series would be the same Star Wars but at one tenth the cost and so he found it to be a big challenge. He has said that the project will be on hold due to the budget constraints for an indefinite period.
The filmmaker was seen preparing for the spinoff of the Star Wars movie franchise since 2005 and he even started casting last year. The news has come as a shock and disappointment for many as George Lucas had recently announced his plan to donate half his wealth to charity like some of the other contemporary billionaires. George Lucas made the announcement at the one of the anniversary screenings of ‘The Empire Strikes Back’. There has also been immense speculations among the fans of the franchise about which part of the Star Wars series the TV series was to cover. Some felt that the first 3 sequels of the franchise were pointless because that focused on the non-Jedi or Sith characters.
Some of the rumors about the TV series suggest that the series would have been 400 episode long. George Lucas himself was writing the first episode of the season according to the reports. The original idea of the TV series was to fill in the space between the fall of the Republic in ‘Revenge of the Sith’ and ‘A New Hope’.
