george_lucas Los Angeles, Aug 8 (THAINDIAN NEWS) All the Star Wars fans are going to be bitterly disappointed because George Lucas has revealed that he plans to put on hold the Star Wars TV series because of the funding issues.

George Lucas is unable to find sources to fund the ambitious TV series. This is certainly an irony because recently he had revealed his plans to donate almost 50% of his money to charity. Star Wars fans are almost unanimous in their opinion that instead of donating his money to charity, if only he had diverted those resources to the TV series.

Recently George Lucas had spoken about the series and said that, “The live-action TV show is kind of on hold because we have scripts, but we don’t know how to do them.” Later he had made it amply clear that he actually was pointing to the funding issues and not to anything else. Since it is such an ambitious project, so a high budget is required to film it too.

The TV series was first announced five years ago, but after that there has been a lull on the project. And the recent George Lucas admission about the funding issues might ring the death knell on the project.
