lucasFeb 1, (THAINDIAN NEWS) George Lucas, the brain behind “Star Wars,” has declared that the next production that will be hitting the theaters from his stable will be a musical. Needless to say, this latest venture is going to be rather close to the heart of the screenwriter, director and producer, and a bit nostalgic too. His first break in the film industry had been with a musical, the Francis Ford Coppola directed “Finian’s Rainbow.” The production of the latest musical venture will mark a return to the genre after a long period of almost 50 years.

The film has not yet been titled, at least, the name has not yet been given out to the public. Not much is known about the film, except that the storyline involves fairies, and that it is going to be completely CGI, that is, a completely animated film. It is being directed by Kevin Munroe, and the script has been penned by David Berenbaum, the same who had scripted the story of “The Spiderwick Chronicles.” It is also believed that the movie would contain a number of songs.

It has been reported that the pre-production of the film is already in progress at the Skywalker Ranch Production Facility at the Marin County in California. The details are being given such top secret priority that it is not even known so far whether the producer was the one who had come up with the story or not, and the story is a complete hush hush. It is being expected that he has, as he generally does for his home productions. The authorities in Lucasfilm, the production company of George Lucas, have refused to comment on the project.
