New York, Aug 11 (THAINDIAN NEWS) George Lopez joked about TBS’s decision not to order another season of his show “Lopez Tonight.” The last episode of the show was aired last night and during the show, Lopez informed the studio audience that the show will not air next season. “Lopez Tonight” is among the shows that TBS has pulled the plug on.

Amid boos from the studio audience at the decision by the network to cancel the show, Lopez said that, “In case you haven’t heard the news, TBS has decided not to renew ‘Lopez Tonight’ and tomorrow will be our last night. The unemployment rate is high, and for Latinos, it just got a little higher!”

Lopez’s show enjoyed fair ratings until it was moved to midnight to make way for Conan O’Brien’s show “Conan” last fall. Before starting his show, O’Brien acknowledged the sacrifice that Lopez made for his show. He told his viewers that the comedian was very influential in getting the show on the TBS.

O’Brien acknowledged that, “Had it not been for George being so incredibly supportive of me, I would not have come to TBS and we would not be doing this show right now.”
