April 2, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): Sandra Bullock has been able to rely on her close friends, which has been a bit of a relief now that her husband’s scandal has been making headlines.

Actor-turned-late night host George Lopez is one of the people who is standing strong with Bullock in times when she needs a friend. Lopez’s sitcom was produced by Bullock and it may be noted that she played an important part in establishing his career.

Even though the “The George Lopez Show” ended in 2007, the actor continued to be close friends with Bullock and visited her on Saturday.

Lopez met Bullock a day after the Kids’ Choice Awards and sat with her for a while. He expresses that he and all her friends love her and are by her side.

Bullock also visited a ‘dear family friend’ on Wednesday in Los Angeles.

She was spotted in public for the first time after her husband’s scandal made news when she went to visit Gabriel Brener, who works for a Beverly Hills investment firm. According to sources, she wasn’t there for business but because she’s been friends with Brener for years. She visits his house quite often.

On March 15, the actress moved out of her home and has been avoiding public appearances. Her husband, Jesse James, has checked into rehab in Arizona to work on personal issues. It isn’t confirmed whether he’s there for a substance drug abuse problem or for sex addiction.

James has recently admitted to having affairs with seven women. The scandal broke out after tattoo model Michelle McGee opened up about her 11-month affair with James.
