Dec.16, (THAINDIAN NEWS) George Lopez, the popular Comedian who has enthralled thousands of viewers with his unique sense of humor and comic timing in a variety of programs recently added another feather to his cap. He was selected by Finnish mobile giant Nokia for opening the Nokia Theatre Hall of Fame. It is no mean feat to sell 100,000 tickets and garner $8 million. As the venue has around 7100 seats, selling 100000 tickets translates into doing a huge number of shows. George Lopez is slated to start his show on Friday, which will enable him to spend 20 nights in that theater.

A granite made plaque has been installed just in front of Nokia Theatre box office to commemorate his achievement. George Lopez said in a statement that he is quite happy about the honor. Randy Phillips, who is the AEG Live CEO, was full of praise for George Lopez. He even compared the comedian with pop legend Micheal Jackson. Eminent actress Eva Longoria Parker also showered praises on him for his contributions to the genre of comedy. The comedian has a huge fan following that transcends any kind of racial and continental barriers.

As far as stand up comedy is concerned, George Lopez hardly has any competition. His recent HBO solo special titled George Lopez: Tall, Dark & Chicano” is likely to become a huge hit. It was performed in San Antonio where the Comedian displayed his comic skills to an arena crowd. It was quite entertaining. The CD version of this program is also available in the market for all those who want to continue to enjoy his performance.
