George Clooney’s girlfriend accused of taking drugs in Italy

LOS ANGELES (BNO NEWS) — George Clooney’s girlfriend is accused by a former friend who claims to have seen her taking drugs at a nightclub in Italy, according to Italian media on Thursday.
French model Karima Menad told a court that she, together with Elisabetta Canalis, used cocaine at Milan hotspot The Club in 2007. The club, where Menad worked in 2007 and 2008, was shut down later following a drugs and prostitution bust at the location.
Canalis, who is 31, has been dating Clooney since 2009.
According to court documents obtained by Italy’s Corriere della Sera newspaper, Menad testified in 2008, saying that she remembers taking cocaine with Elisabetta Canalis and two others.
Meanwhile, the owners of the nightclub are currently under investigation over allegations that they provided wealthy customers with models to have sex with off the premises.
