fire18Milan, July 17, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Hollywood actor George Clooney appeared at a Milan court to testify against three men who have been accused of using the actor’s name to promote their own fashion labels. The fraud case hearing which took place on Friday saw the actor impeccably dressed in a blue suit answering questions posed to him by Judge Pietro Caccialanza through an interpreter which had been provided keeping in mind the star’s lack of understanding of the Italian dialect.

During the one and a half hour trial in the Milan court, George Clooney testified to the fact that he had no clue about the identity of the three men involved in using his name to advertise their line of clothing at a fashion show held in the fashion capital of Italy two years back. The fraud case involving the name of the Hollywood star came to light in the year 2008 when police laid their hands upon certain articles of the particular brand of clothing that was being launched by the three men in question at a fashion show in Milan. These articles put forward the claim that George Clooney was a part of the star promoters of their line of apparel.

Needless to say with George Clooney in court, the courtroom was packed with a number of people who had come celebrity-spotting to Milan on Friday. The judge too could not stop himself from saying that the trial resembled that of a Hollywood movie. George Clooney maintained throughout the entire 90 minute session that his signature on the documents which the defendants had produced in court had been forged.
