George Clooney and Elisabetta Canalis split

The news was confirmed in a joint statement that the couple released. The statement said that, “We are not together anymore. It’s very difficult and very personal and we hope everyone can respect our privacy.” George and Canalis had been dating for a couple of years. They first proclaimed their status as a couple to the public at the 2009 Venice Film Festival.
The sudden announcement as a split comes as a shock to all, because just last week they were seen having a nice dinner together in Italy.
George Clooney had been married before to actress Talia Balsam for 4 years. However he feels that he is not meant for marriage. In a past interview he had said that, “I was married, so I gave it a shot. I’ve proven how good I was at it, and I just…I’m allowed one.”
However Elisabetta seems to have wanted to move the relationship to the next level because in a recent interview she had said that, “I am a firm believer in marriage. In the future I will be married, but for the time being I am happy as I am. I don’t need anything to confirm how happy I am. I am very happy at the moment - thanks to my man and my fairytale is continuing. We are a couple that never gets bored.”
