The man who could use 7 words you could not use in Television has died of heart failure at the age of 71.
George Carlin passed on to the chagrin of many comedy lovers. He went to St. John’s Hospital, Santa Monica, yesterday after complaining of chest pain and died at 5:55 p.m. local time. Carlin was a consummate comedian who had made it to the helm of fame and success through his classic comedian distinction.
Carlin has left his other half Jack Burns who can’t bear the loss. Carlin was famous in the 70’s with his momentous gigs and appeared on popular television programs such as “The Tonight Show”. He sported his own insignia in which he wore long hair and a beard unlike many comedians who stay clean cut. He did his last performance last week in the Las Vegas Orleans Casino and hotel, Carlin was an award winning comedian.
Comedy was his medium where by he combined a cynic’s attitude with a street-wise New Yorker’s love of verbal wordplay making the people love his stuff. He made 23 comedy albums and appeared in 14 HBO specials. He earned himself four Grammy Awards and nominations for five Emmys. Burns is at pain and he laments he is saddened by Carlin’s death.
Burns has remained the closest friend to Carlin until Carlin’s untimely death yesterday. The world is mourning this genius and messages of condolences have been sent to his family and friends.
RIP George Carlin!
