Geico Voice Actor Fired After Indulging In Notorious Political Talk
April 24th, 2010 - 11:08 pm ICT by Pen Men At Work
April 24, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): The actor, Lance Baxter, who is extensively recognized as the voice-over for the renowned Geico insurance advertisements, has only just been thrown out of his job. His sacking was owing to the offensive observations he had generated for an organization with connections to the ‘Tea Party’. The organization in question is Freedom Works. The ‘Tea Party’ is a movement that is extensively backed by the right-wing Republican Party of America.
Lance Baxter left a voicemail for the Freedom Works society. The communication sarcastically and bitterly asked about the percentages of the psychologically malformed individuals, who functioned for the Freedom Works society and who were constituents of it. Baxter also queried about whether the society had a plan on how to distort the eventual information of one of their members turning belligerent and slaughtering someone.
In the voicemail, he also left his phone number. This led to the effortless tracking down of the offensive remarks back to Baxter.
Freedom Works inscribed about Baxter’s voicemail on biggovernment.com. There, Geico directors read about the unpleasant incident and eliminated all connections with the actor, Lance Baxter. Geico fired Baxter. Baxter also operates under the name D.C. Douglas.
Baxter later positioned a blog about the unpleasant incident. He inscribed that what he uttered on the voicemail was unintelligent. However, he still deems that the ‘Tea Party’ associations promote vitriolic speech against homosexuals and religious minorities. In a declaration, Baxter also divulged that he was saddened by the latest homosexual and racial insults that were tossed by the Tea Party members at Congressman Barney Frank and Representative John Lewis during the Health Care Reform Weekend.
