Gayle King debuts on CBS show ‘This Morning’

New York, Jan 9 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Oprah Winfrey tweeted her support for Gayle King before she made her debut on the CBS show This Morning. CBS named King as a co-host of the show last November.

Oprah was up on Monday morning getting viewers in the mood for King’s first show on the network. One of her tweets read, “Morning tweeps..I’m up early to watch CBS morning news. Gayles debut. 4 25 years she watched my show while working out ,now I will.”

King is moving to CBS from Oprah’s OWN network. She was the host of the show “The Gayle King Show.” Shortly after the CBS announced hiring her, King indicated that she want to focus entirely on the new show. She had been on OWN since the 10th of January 2011.

Prior to that, King was the Editor-At-Large of O, The Oprah Magazine. Announcing her hire, CBS announced that, “King has received numerous awards for her extensive work as a journalist. In addition to three Emmys, she was honored in 2008 with the American Women in Radio & Television Gracie Award for Outstanding Radio Talk Show and in 2010 with both the Individual Achievement Award for Host-Entertainment/Information and the New York Women in Communications’ Matrix Award recipient.”

King joined Charlie Rose and Erica Hill on the show.
