Gaurav Chopra has done theatre since the age of 18 in Delhi. But even now, after a long stint in television, Gaurav is still hooked to theatre. So, when director Prriya Ary and Ravi Gosain offered him the character of Mr. Right in the forthcoming play DA DATING TRUTHS he immediately grabbed it.

“I am enjoying this musical play with 16 originally recorded songs. But you know the funny thing is that my name Samay Chauhan is the mix of the two characters that I have played in two different serials. In ‘Aisa Desh Hai Mera’, my name was Samay Khurana and in another serial, ‘Left Right Left’, I was named, Abhimanyu Chauhan and in this play my name is a mix of both, Samay Chauhan. It’s uncanny,” laughs Gaurav.

A hard-core theatre addict, Gaurav Chopra has traveled to South Africa and Europe with Broadway Bollywood Musical titled “Bombay Crush” in which he was the lead. He had got an opportunity to work with great Hollywood actor like, Lionardo Di Caprio and was part of Cineyug’s venture, “City of Dreams”.

Ask him about his character and the play DA DATING TRUTHS and pat comes the answer, “In this play, today’s young generation relationship status has been shown very beautifully. They are quite confused about their relations and about their choices. The protagonist of this play goes through all that dilemma and confusions. Other than that it has beautiful music by Aashish Reggo and KC Loy and well choreographed dance numbers by Longinus which will entertain the audience.”

DA DATING TRUTHS premiers on Saturday 5th December at St Andrew auditorium.
