michael-jackson-concert-2 Gary, Indiana officials have high hopes around the proposed ‘Michael Jackson museum’, which is planning to honor the late ‘King of Pop’.

Mayor Rudy Clay said that lots of tourists come to visit the childhood home of Michael Jackson after his death in 2009. So, he expects that a museum of his name will definitely bring many more in this city. They hope to have as many visitors as the Elvis Presley’s Graceland brings. But, this might not be possible.

According to Michael’s father Joe Jackson and project promoter Simon Sahouri, preliminary research has shown that 500,000 to 750,000 visitors a year might visit Gary after the proposed development. Clay claims that it could be up to 1 million a year.

The prediction of the Mayor Rudy Clay may go down in reality as all these claims are negated by the attendance at other sites honoring Michael Jackson.

Clay added, “I know about people losing hope but this project is going to bring Gary hope and opportunity.”

On the other hand, the Jackson’s estate stated that it is planning a different museum but requires a written approval for using the singer’s name and intellectual property as well as his music.

However, the community leaders are still hoping to see the development becoming a reality so that it brings back some magic to the city Jackson left at the age of 11.

We hope, the legendary singer’s name brings some business to the city!
