Gary Coleman Dead At 42 From Brain Hemorrhage

garycoleman May 28 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Gary Coleman,42, best known for his role as ‘Arnold’ in the 1970’s television show Different Strokes has died in a Utah hospital from a brain hemorrhage resulting from injuries he sustained from a fall earlier in the week. According to TMZ, Gary’s wife, Shannon made the decision to turn off Gary’s life support early this morning. He died at 12:05 pm MST of an intracranial hemorrhage.

Gary has been rushed to the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center after falling and hitting his head. He was admitted to the hospital on May 26, a little after noon. He had been having seizures even before the incident. He had been on life support ever since Thursday.

Gary was born in Illinois and adopted by Edmonia Sue and W.G. Coleman. He suffered from a congenital kidney disease which halted his growth. Because of this he stood 4 foot 8 inches tall and kept childlike features throughout his life. Aside from Diff’rent Strokes, Gary also played roles in The Jeffersons and Good Times as well as appearing in a 1978 pilot for The Little Rascal in which he played ‘Stymie’.

Gary Coleman’s rep had this to say, “Thanks to everyone for their well wishing and support during this tragic time. Now that Gary has passed, we know he will be missed because of all the love and support shown in the past couple of days. Gary is now at peace and his memory will be kept in the hearts of those who were entertained by him throughout the years.”
