Garth Brooks raises $3.5 million for charity
November 8th, 2010 - 5:19 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattNashville, Nov 8 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Garth Brooks charity is yet to come off but the concert has managed to gross some $3.5 million in ticket sales. Brooks was very excited with the outcome of the sales and he revealed that he was glad to be part of the process. The concert will be towards the relief effort of Nashville floods and the concert was so well promoted that at a particular day, 140,000 tickets were sought by patrons. That made it the most tickets sold in a day in Tennessee. The number surpassed that of Michael Jackson’s concert in Knoxville.
The shows will be performed between 16 to 22 Dec. this year. He will be performing along with his wife Trisha Yearwood along with other unnamed guests. The tickets were offered for $25 apiece and it seems the patronage is huge. The total amount will be donated to The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee.
Brooks is coming back from retirement. He retreated from the public view in 2000 and announced that he wants to spend more time with his family. He has sold several solo albums and he is considered as the top selling solo artist in the history of America.
