Garrison Keillor Not Mystified Over “A Prairie Home Companion” success

garrison keillor Garrison Keillor, the renowned host of the popular radio show “A Prairie Home Companion” has been recently reported of celebrating the 35th Anniversary of the show. The show which has been a huge success all through these years is regarded as one of the most liked and sought after radio show. To much surprise Keillor is not frantic or over joyed regarding the success of the show. Keillor has reportedly said that he is not “over sentimental” regarding the success and popularity of the show. He says that he prefers to remember the moments of the show when it first came on air as early as in the year 1974.

Keillor, a humorist, columnist, writer and a noticeable radio personality started off his career in the year 1969 with Minnesota Educational Radio, now known as Minnesota Public Radio. He hosted “The Morning Program” in the weekday drive time slot of electric music. “A Prairie Home Companion” debuted in 1974 as an old fashioned variety show. The show opened in front of a live audience and gained huge success and popularity with immediate effect. Keillor is also the host of “The Writer’s Almanac” which like “A Prairie Home Companion” is produced and distributed by American Public Media.

Keillor caps the latest season of the popular show with a Fourth Of July broadcast from Avon. While speaking to The Associated Press, Keillor said that he is looking forward to deliver the shows signature monologue “among people who know Lake Wobegon better than do.”
