London, June 1 (IANS) Pop singer Lady Gaga has revealed that she was supposed to open Michael Jackson’s ill-fated comeback show “This Is It”.
“You know, it’s always very difficult because I don’t necessarily like to talk about those very personal things that happened. But I guess I can speak about it now. I was actually asked to open for Michael on his tour,” Gaga said in an interview with US talk show host Larry King.
“We were going to open for him at the O2 and we were working on making it happen. I believe there was some talk about lots of the openers doing duets with Michael on stage.
“But Michael’s death was devastating for me… he’s such an inspiration and a remarkable human being,” she added.
The singer shocked onlookers in London Saturday when she decided to sleep in her tour bus parked in a supermarket instead of joining her entourage at Dorchester hotel, reports contactmusic.com.
A source said: “It was really bizarre. All Gaga’s luggage - about 20 laminated boxes and suitcases - were dropped off at the Dorchester and her crew at about 3 a.m.
“And 15 minutes later, the driver, one of her entourage and Gaga’s security guy got back on the bus and drove off, hitting the West Cromwell Road Tesco at about 3.30 a.m. They went down a ramp to park and Gaga got them to turn off the ignition and bedded down for the night,” the source added.
