Gaga forced to scrap concert in France
October 22nd, 2010 - 12:34 am ICT by IANSLondon, Oct 21 (IANS) Pop star Lady Gaga has been forced to scrap her concerts in France until December, because of “logistical difficulties” caused by the ongoing strikes over pension reforms.
Contactmusic.com reports, over one million citizens have taken to the streets in protest of President Nicolas Sarkozy’s plans to raise the nation’s retirement age from 60 to 62, and the demonstrations have led to severe public transport delays and petrol shortages.
The disruption has now caused the “Poker Face” hitmaker to postpone her Monster Ball shows in France until December.
“Unfortunately, as there is no certainty that the trucks can make it to the Bercy (area in Paris) for this weekend’s shows, the Lady Gaga performances are now postponed. Lady Gaga apologises to her fans for any inconvenience,” said a statement.
