Los Angeles, Apr 1, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Gabourey Sidibe, the American actress who debuted with “Precious: Based on the Novel ‘Push’ by Sapphire” and got nominated for the best actress in Academy Awards this year will be seen on the small screen hosting one of the popular “Saturday Night Live” episodes, according to a media reports. Though the exact date of her appearance is not yet disclosed, a source has revealed that Gabourey Sidibe will likely be seen towards the end of this month, where a date remains still without a host.

“Saturday Night Live” is one of the most popular American Television weekend show and with the likely appearance of Gabourey Sidibe in the show, it seems that the actress has been able to prove wrong the host Howard Stern who had doubted the actress’ career prospect sighting her weight. Though the actress has not bee able to hold the academy Award Statuette this year, her performance in her debut film was hugely appreciated by critics and audience. She was able to portray the pains and sufferings of a teen aged girl who had to undergo a lot of suffering at such a tender age.

However, Gabourey Sidibe does not want to get typecast and has shown her interest to act in some comic roles. She had also shown her brighter side during her red carpet walk at the Oscar ceremony and also in some recent late night shows. She has landed up with the Showtime’s dark comedy series “The Big C” where she will be playing the role of high school student. She had finished shooting for her next release, an independent movie “Yelling to the Sky” as well.
