New York, February 24 (ANI): A furious Bruce Springsteen slammed a ticket sales and distribution company for playing tricks with his fans.

Fans of the singer received a promise and an apology after Ticketmaster shut out tickets for two of the rock star’’s forthcoming concerts at the Meadowlands.

More than 2,000 livid followers had filed complaints to New Jersey Attorney General Anne Milgrams office after being directed to the sites subsidiary site, TicketsNow, which was selling 200 to 5,000 dollars apiece as compared to 65 to 95 dollars on the main Ticketmaster Web site.

Springsteen blew his top on hearing upon the rip-off, saying the matter left him furious.

“The abuse of our fans and our trust by Ticketmaster has made us as furious as it has made many of you,” the New York Daily News quoted him as saying in a message on his Web site.

“We condemn this practice,” he added.

Milgram announced that Ticketmaster CEO Irving Azoff had issued an apology to the musician and his fans, along with agreeing to pay 350,000 dollars in compensation to the ticket holders who had complained.

The site also promised to mend the way it sold tickets on its secondary resale site. (ANI)
