Frisky Radio Celebrates Electronic Music From India

June 7, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Electronic music from India has drawn the decade old online radio station Frisky Radio. The independent online electronica dance music station has aired over 90 shows in more than 140 countries.

The show titled “Frisky Radio loves India’, will present original electronic music from twelve Indian DJs, to listeners all over the world.

DJ Arjun Vagale (Jalebee Cartel) of Frisky Radio and Submerge India collaborated to make this project possible.

Vagale is already doing a show on the radio station called “Deep Fried Jalebee’. Since the last few years, Submerge India has been promoting electronic music in India through various events, which includes the Sunburn Festival in Goa.

Rushabh Seth, one of the 12 DJs whose music will be aired on the show quips, “The guys at Frisky Radio ensure that only quality music is aired because we know over 3000 listeners from all over the world, will be connected to us.”

DJ Praveen Acharya echoes the same saying, “Frisky is the best thing to happen in India and one can be assured of listening to good quality electronic music.”

Faisal Sultan, the founder of Frisky Radio, says, “India has a huge collection of Electronic music now, whereas during my initial days of Frisky radio in 2001, there were hardly any collection in the subcontinent and the Middle East. But now, the top DJ’s of the world regularly visit places like Bangalore, Mumbai, Dubai and Abu Dhabi.”

Sultan informs that India has now included among the top 50 countries of the world in terms of electronic music listeners on the Internet. He feels that technology has played a big role in this.
