tony1 The Hollywood icon Tony Curtis breathed his last Wednesday at his home in Las Vegas after he suffered a massive heart attack. The actor was 85 year old. The legendary actor has been laid to rest at the Palm Mortuary and Cemetery in Las Vegas. The eye-witnesses said that a memorial service was held at the cemetery where Tony Curtis’s family, friends and fans attended and paid their tribute to the actor.

Tony Curtis’ daughter, Jamie Lee Curtis attended her father’s funeral and broke into tears when she said that all his children and grandchildren are “evidence of him” and she has inherited “desperate” need for “attention” from his father. One hour long memorial service saw around 400 friends and family members of the actor who flocked at the place to pay their tribute and remember the actor. Kirk Douglas and Phyllis McGuire were among the pallbearers who attended the memorial service and remembered their friend. Jill Curtis remembered her husband by saying that Tony Curtis did not like “funerals” as he wanted it to be like “celebration”. She shared some of her experiences with the crowd and spoke about her husband’s strengths and weaknesses.

The California Governor and veteran actor Arnold Schwarzenegger attended the memorial service and said that Tony Curtis encouraged him to change his name and accent. The “Some Like It Hot” actor had told Arnold Schwarzenegger that someday the latter will make it big in Hollywood. He even referred to Tony Curtis’ Vanity Fair photo-shoot where the actor posed nude and said that Tony Curtis had the guts to do so at the age of 80. Jill Curtis said that her late husband has been laid to rest with his favorite possessions like his Stetson hat, Armani scarf, driving gloves, an iPhone and a copy of his favorite novel, “Anthony Adverse”.
