Freddy Krueger is back to spook our dreams in the 21st century too. The stills for the upcoming movie, which is a remake of the classic horror tale of “A Nightmare On Elm Street” are getting released one after the other and they most certainly look quite impressive. They look slick and yes, scary; which is what the movie aims to do.
Producer Brad Fuller of the fame of such movies as “Friday the 13th”, “The Unborn”, “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre” said that yet another of the new images will be released within a short time on IGN.
It is a phase of cinema to witness a host of remakes, as every other old movie is getting remade. “A Nightmare On The Elm Street” is certainly not lagging behind in any regard. The Nightmare series was a huge hit in the 1980s and gave rise to the popular genre of that line of future movie series.
Freddy Krueger, who is the fictional character that wove the web of terror all through the “Nightmare” series is back with all the menace that could be mustered in the 21st century.
He still remains the same physically maimed, steel razor gloved dream stalker who goes on a killing spree. His usual victims are young children and teenagers, whose dreams he used to invade and eventually kill them. He is an undead but when dragged in to the normal human world, he has his set of vulnerabilities too.
The spooky character of Krueger was created by Wes Craven and was portrayed on screen by actor Robert Englund, who played Krueger in all of the series of the Nightmare film as well as on television too. This time the character will be essayed by Jackie Earle Haley and the movie is directed by first time director Samuel Bayer.
