Fred Makes The Transition From The Web To The TV Screen With ‘Fred: The Movie’

20091208_fred_250x375Sep 19, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The much anticipated movie version of the YouTube phenomenon ‘Fred Figglehorn’ was aired on Nickelodeon on Saturday night. The hilarious flick stars Lucas Cruikshank and pop star Pixie Lott. Former WWE star John Cena is seen playing Fred’s dad. On the web, some of the clips of the flick have already started doing the rounds and one of the them shows John Cena giving advice to his son about women in his signature WWE in-the-ring style of delivery.

‘Fred The Movie’ was highly anticipated by the teens and pre-teens who found the story of the goofy, crazy and adorable Fred a must watch on the web. The story of the film revolves around Fred and Pixie Lott, who plays his love interest, Judy. The trailer of the flick which has become a rage on the web as well shows that the film promises to be one hilarious journey of the teenager to find his love. There is also some goofy action in the film that includes Fred trying to jump over a wall in style and ending up crashing head on into it. He is also seen passionate about singing and wants to invite Judy to sing along with him.

The character of Fred, played by Lucas Cruikshank, is a teenager who pretends to be six years old. One of the reasons for the actor’s success on the web was his annoying and tiny voice that make his lines sound funny. On the web there are reportedly 2 million subscribers to the Fred Channel where the videos of the ‘16 year old playing 6 year old’ are aired.
