Frank Potenza ‘Uncle Frank’ dies

Los Angeles, Aug 23 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Frank Potenza, popularly called Uncle Frank on ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” show, has died at the age of 77 years. Frank was a police officer but he achieved fame when he joined his nephew Kimmel on the show.

The executives of the show released a statement on Tuesday. The statement said Frank was “beloved by his co-workers and considered an uncle to all…His kindness and humor will be missed by everyone he touched.”

The retired officer served two decades in the force and shortly after ending his service, he served as a private guard. He eventually joined his nephew on the show in 2003 after Kimmel extended an invitation to him. He served as a cast member of the show and a guard when he was on the show.

During his active years, he was a veteran of the Korean war and later a police officer for twenty years. He later worked as guard for St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Manhattan and in Las Vegas. He later moved to Los Angeles where he joined his nephew on the show.

He is survived by three daughters and a granddaughter who was just born. Funeral arrangements have not been released.
