Jan 16, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Francene Cucinello, the WHAS’ talk-show host is reported to have died on January 15th. It has come as a huge blow to the Louisville Community for whom, the host had been a source of news on anything and everything, from entertainment to politics. The 43-year-old host lost her fight due to the brain aneurysm she had suffered. Sources say that on Monday, the star underwent a heart attack, which was followed by the brain aneurysm which occurred on Wednesday. Friday afternoon, at 3.15 she died while she was recuperating at the Norton Hospital.
Her family members have released a statement which says that visitations are not allowed but the memorial service can be attended by any since it is open to public. The one hour long service is scheduled to take place at 10.00 AM on Monday and the venue has been selected to be the Southeast Christian church at the 920 Blankenbaker parkway. The statement further read that, the people visiting could donate money to the BBT for the support of aneurysm research in lieu of bringing flowers.
Another statement, this time from U.S Rep. John Yarmuth, was released soon after the news of her death spread. U.S Rep. John Yarmuth has been a regular guest on the deceased’s show for a long time now. The statement read that the “radio host was driven by compassion for those around her”. This was soon followed by the Louisville Metro Mayor, Jerry Abramson; Kentucky attorney general Jack Conway and Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear releasing their own statements in her honor and memory.
It was in 2003, when the lady moved to Louisville and took the position abandoned by John Ziegler. Along with her being a host- she was also a part of the LEO Weekly, where she wrote a column. Our condolences are with her family and friends.
