France honors American actor Robert Redford with ‘Knight of the Legion Honor’

Paris, Oct 15 (THAINDIAN NEWS) On Thursday in a ceremony 74-year-old American actor Robert Redford was awarded with a red-ribboned medal for his decades-long filming work and his great actions to save the environment.

The French President Nicolas Sarkozy presented the red-ribboned medal to the director/ actor. Sarkozy said that Robert is an ideal example of brilliant actor/director and environment saver human being for French residents and people around the globe.

President added that Robert is the incarnation of the US and his memorable roles in films like Butch Cassidy and Sundance Kid appeared on silver screen in 1969; Out of Africa in 1985 and The Great Gatsby in 1974 and many more such lovable movies

He said the actor/director is still going strong to impress the viewers with his delightful performances. He added that Robert’s movies are gift to film industry; his movies are watched and re-watched by viewers with same love and emotions each time. he said that, “I know 65 million French people who would like to be in my shoes right now. Those who love cinema long remember … (your) films, which we watch and re-watch with the same emotion each time.”

He praised the actor for the long commitment to save and protect environment. He said he is delighted to honor the actor today for his achievements.
