Fran Drescher Speaks Out About Gay Ex Husband
June 4th, 2010 - 12:02 am ICT by Angela Kaye MasonJune 3 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Fran Drescher and Peter Marc Jacobson met in high school, when they were barely teenagers, married in 1978, when she was 21, and split after a 21 year marriage that left them very close friends.
So close, in fact, that they set each other up on dates from time to time. What’s even odder than a divorced couple fixing each other up on dates? Both Fran and Peter are looking to date men only.
In an article which Fran gave exclusively for In Touch Weekly, the actress stated, “Peter and I met when we were 15. We were just kids and didn’t know who we truly were. We went through a lot together. We love each other dearly…. We have even fixed each other up! I more successfully than him, by the way.Peter and I feel so blessed to have met each other and to still have a caring, loving relationship,” Fran says. “Love is what we’re all about.”
The two are even working on a television sitcom which would be based on their relationship. She says that he revealed to her that he was gay after their divorce in 1999, which would shed new light for her fans as to why she has always been so outspoken for gay rights.
