Fox Signs Jamie Foxx For Its New Comedy Series

September 2, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): Jamie Foxx is going to be back with Fox according to the reports. However, the talented academy award winner is not going to be seen in the capacity of a permanent judge of the American Idol as the rumors had it initially. Instead he has been signed by Fox as the executive producer for a comedy series which will go on air during midseason this year.
The 43 year old actor had won the coveted Academy Award for ‘Ray’ in 2005. He has also won a number of other awards for his performances.
The show is reportedly being based on ‘In Living Color’ which also featured Foxx from 1991-1994. The show is expected to feature a number of talents and will take a dig at the pop culture, movies, TV shows, music videos as well as celebrities among other things.
Affion Crockett who has been signed on as the producer will also star in the series. His online spoofs on Tiger Woods and Jay-Z had proved to be a hit with the audiences.
Kevin Reilly, the president of the entertainment section of Fox stated that it was fantastic to welcome Foxx back to the network where he shone brilliantly before. He went on to say that Jamie was a veritable powerhouse of talent both as a producer as well as a performer. His teaming up with Affion Crockett, the generation next performer is sure to be a success. He concluded by saying that he will look forward to the next wave of comedy from Fox.
The series has not been given a title so far.
