Fox ropes in Scott to resuscitate Alien

Aug 3 (IBNS) Famous director Ridley Scott is back and has been hired by Twentieth Century Fox is resuscitating its “Alien” series.

The production house has also hired Jon Spaihts to write a prequel that has Ridley Scott attached to return as director, reports variety.com.

The film will be the sequel to famous and the groundbreaking film in 1979 that was also directed by Scot.

The new deal will give Fox an opportunity to keep alive their Alien series. Since the first part in 1979, there have been three sequels to it and this will be the first time Scott will return to direct of the sequel of his original version.

Spaihts has become the most sought after writer in sci-fi thrillers. Keanu Reeves has also hired Spaihts to write the space journey epic “Passengers,” which is set at Morgan Creek. While working on the script, Spaihts got in touch with Fox and Scott and then the producers asked him to the write the script of the sequel.

Fox has also hired him to rewrite the script of “The Darkest Hour,” which Timur Bekmambetov was to produce with Tom Jacobson. In his other projects, Spaihts is writing “Children of Mars” for Disney and “St. George and the Dragon” for Sony and Red Wagon.
