Apr 29, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Former Miss USA Tara Conner created quite a buzz on Wednesday night when she appeared on the “Oprah Winfrey Show” and gave revealing insights into her addiction to drugs and how it had affected her in more ways than one. In the interview, the former beauty queen started revealing facts about her life that left the audience quite shocked.

During last night’s “Oprah Winfrey Show”, the 24 year old noted model recalled how she had been completely addicted to drugs and alcohol due to which she almost lost control over her life. The viewers were left rather astonished when Tara Conner stated that she started resorting to drugs at the tender age of 14, when her parents separated from each other and her grandfather had passed away. One of the most heartwarming moments of the show was when the former Miss USA added that at that point of time in her life she felt as if she was crying out for help but there was no one who could come to her rescue in some way or the other. Although many might presume that the much acclaimed model has resorted to drugs and alcohols in order to cope with the pressure that a beauty pageant is known put on the contestants, Tara Conner refuted the claim while adding that it was not the pressure but sheer alcoholism.

Tara Conner won the Miss USA beauty pageant in the year 2006 but eight months later she was on the verge of losing the crown after testing positive for cocaine. Although it was presumed that pageant owner Donald Trump would terminate her, he decided to give her a second chance and she was subsequently sent to a rehabilitation center.
