Feb 11 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Ashley Underwood is a former “Miss Maine”, a basketball star, and an upcoming ‘Survivor’ contestant who will be competing for the one million dollar cash prize along side eighteen other castaways on ‘CBS’.

The cast of the new “Survivor: Redemption Island” were revealed on Monday, by CBS, and filming is set to begin on the sixteenth of February. Underwood, 25, graduated from Cony High School, and then the University of Maine. She is now a nurse.

Due to the limits in her contract, neither Underwood nor her parents were allowed to speak about the show, but each of the contestants were given a few seconds to speak in a video promotion.

Unlike previous seasons of ‘Survivor’ this one will have a twist. Once a castaway is voted off by the tribal council, instead of going straight home, they are sent to “Redemption Island” where they will battle with the next contestant to be exiled, and the winner will get the chance to return to the game, or be “Redeemed.”

Among the other contestants are an Iraq war veteran, some NFL players, a cheerleader, and two former contestants.
