Dec 18, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Former “Melrose Place” actress Amy Locane was indicted last Thursday on charges of assault by automobile and aggravated manslaughter. The actress was arrested on June 28 and was charged with DUI and second degree homicide after a supposed drunk driving crash. Amy Locane was in her Chevy Tahoe in Montgomery, New Jersey on June 27, when she accidentally crashed her car on the passenger side of a Mercury Milan that was turning into a driveway.

The law enforcement officials say that the 38-year-old actress will have to face 10 to 30 years of prison sentences if she is found guilty of her charges. The fatal crash claimed female passenger Helene Seeman’s life and the driver Fred Seeman was admitted to a hospital. Moreover, the law enforcement officials who responded to the accident smelled alcohol and saw that Amy Locane’s eyes were glassy and blurred. The police reported that her speech was also slurred and when police conducted her blood alcohol testing at Princeton Hospital, they found that the reports were positive. Later, Amy Locane had admitted that she drunk few glasses of wine before driving her car.

The law enforcement officials reported that the actress has paid $50,000 bail. However, after Somerset County’s jury announced the indictment, Amy Locane’s attorney Blair Zwillman, reportedly, said that he was surprised to hear the verdict. He said that he does not believe that law supports aggravated manslaughter charge. In an interview to a reputed media source, Blair Zwillman said that he feels the charges are completely misplaced and inappropriate as well. Moreover, he said that he believes, his client Amy Locane will be acquitted after all the incidents and facts become clear.
