Former “Lyte Funky Ones” Singer Rich Cronin Dies Aged 35

richSep 9, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Rich Cronin, the famous singer and songwriter of boy band “Lyte Funky Ones”, better known as LFO, died on Wednesday after battling with leukemia for years. A media source that first came up with the news of Rich Cronin’s death maintained that Rich Cronin died on Wednesday afternoon after suffering a stroke. The news of Rich Cronin’s death was confirmed to fans by former member of ‘N Sync, Lance Bass who remembered the deceased singer as “an amazing guy”.

On Wednesday, Melissa Holland, the manager of Rich Cronin, confirmed the death news on behalf of his family and friends to media sources. A statement posted on the Facebook page of Rich Cronin read that the family of the singer along with the members of Hope Foundation and his record label ‘Orange Freeze’ are thankful to his fans for their thoughts and kind words. It urged Rich Cronin’s fans to keep posting messages on his social networking page as a mark of tribute to the singer who had rocked the world with his soulful pop hits.

The Boston native, Rich Cronin was the co-founder of “Lyte Funky Ones” LFO along with Brad Fischetti and Brian Gillis. Rich Cronin had always tried to differentiate his band’s music from other bands and for that particular reason they introduced rock and hip-hop into the equation. The boy band singer reached the top of his career in 1999 when it’s “Summer Girls” held the No. 3 position on the Billboard’s Hot 100 singles chart. Rich Cronin was diagnosed with cancer in 2005.
