July 26, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Although there are many former “American Idol” aspirants who nurture grudges against former American Idol judge Simon Cowell, very few would actually dare to take the matter to the court and sue the television show judge for his humiliating comments. Simon Cowell is known famously for his rude remarks and stark dismissals of contestants whose talent fail to make a mark in front of him. However, 54-year-old Emma Czikai, a former “Britain’s Got Talent” contestant is not ready to allow the judge to get away with his insulting remarks. Emma Czikai who was rejected during the audition round of “Britain’s Got Talent” back in 2009 is trying to sue the program’s host Simon Cowell for humiliating her in public. A reputed media source reported that the lady is seeking 2.5 million pounds ($3.8 million) in the lawsuit.
Emma Czikai has maintained in her lawsuit that Simon Cowell is responsible for broadcasting her audition clip in which she attempted to sing “You Raise Me Up”. She mentions that Simon Cowell did not pay heed to her letter in which she asked him not to use the clip and mentioned that her performance was affected by some health problems.
At a pre-hearing review in London on Thursday, Emma Czikai said that she had gone ahead to file the case in order to retain her “self-respect and dignity”. The lady added that her performance last year was affected by a disease that caused swellings all over her body. Emma Czikai could not complete even one line of “You Raise Me Up” when the buzzer was hit by Simon Cowell and judge Piers Morgan. The pre-hearing review was kept to determine if a full employment tribunal can go ahead with the hearing.
